We spent most of our time talking about nothing, but I just want to let you know that all of these nothings have meant so much more to me than so many something’s.

You know that feeling? When you’re just waiting. Waiting to get home, into your room, close the door, fall into bed, and just let everything out that you kept in all day. That feeling of both relief and desperation. Nothing is wrong. But nothing is right either.

The two coldest places on earth are Antarctica and my heart.

My father was a classical pianist, and my mother was a singer of just about everything.

When a pianist sits down and does a virtuoso performance he is in a technical sense transmitting more information to a machine than any other human activity involving machinery allows.
