Man of the match : Diego Alves

Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves was man of the match Valencia vs Chelsea last night.
Speaking after the match, Villas-Boas said he believed their performance merited three points and that the result was tough to take when Chelsea were so close to securing a commanding advantage in Group E.
“Cech made a solid contribution but it was not as significant as Diego Alves’ for Valencia,” the Chelsea’s manager said.
“I’m very happy with how the game went and with the attitude of my players, especially as we were up against a great team. A draw was a fair result, even more so when you consider the fine performance of our goalkeeper, Diego Alves balancing out the good chances we created. We are happy with a point; however, we will have to improve in front of goal to pick up all three in future,” Valencia coach Unai Emery said.

Player of the day : David De Gea

What to love about United’s young Spanish goalkeeper? He’s handsome and he’s a great goalkeeper.

With United’s big guns absent, 20- year-old goalkeeper De Gea filled the void. The gangly Spaniard did not let anyone down against Stoke’s aerial bombardment. His onehanded save from Andy Wilkinson soon after United had gone ahead was breathtaking. Stoke countered the ball broke to the onrushing Andy Wilkinson, who burst into the box and unleashed a stinging shot bound for the top corner, but the Spaniard reacted very well to deflect it wide.

Another great effort from de Gea was then required when Jonathan Walters hit a rasping shot bound for the far bottom corner. The young stopper dived to his right to get a small but vital touch, ensuring a halftime lead for the league leaders. However, aerially De Gea is still a real novice and struggles to deal with any kind of pressure while the ball is in the air.

Is television addictive?

I’m watching Arsenal vs Bolton. I watch TV all day. Is television addictive? I once read that breaking a television addiction involves replacing the virtual TV experience with real experiences. Well, I want to go out there to watch the game, but I don’t have enough money to buy tickets. I definitely can’t travel to Spain just to watch Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid tomorrow. That’s why I guess the guy who wrote it is quite a strict man and he didn’t have enough money to buy a TV.
